"The Greeting Flower" or "Flor de Saludo" is a virtual campaign for institutional fellowship and environmental education. Every Monday the photograph of a native flower is sent together with an illustrative text to welcome in the week. The flowers are selected not only for their beauty, rarity or importance, rather all the plants of Santa Cruz are recognized and valued, even though some are not beautiful. The greeting is sent to 1,000 e-mail addresses; however, some are networks that resend to thousands of subscribers, and as such it is estimated that around 5,000 to 10,000 people receive the greeting in several countries.

Since beginning on the 12th of November 2001, we have sent more than 50 photographs of different species.
