FAN works on different projects with communities near the Amboro National Park on such topics as participatory municipal administration, environmental education, territorial zoning and natural resources management  with a sustainable use and biodiversity conservation vision.

Community Eco-tourism


Consolidates an eco-tourism model as a low- impact economic activity that benefits the local community and contributes towards protecting the Amboró Protected Area’s biodiversity.

Protecting Sources of Water

By fencing the Piritial, protects from cattle an area that stores water in the natural grasslands which is used by neighboring communities for agricultural activities.

Supports options for friendly production while conserving natural resources.

 

Zoning Plans for Community Property

Provides a planning tool to manage natural resources in the communities near the Amboro National Park and thus reduce possible impacts on the forests that surround the protected area.

Communities that are inside or neighbor the Noel Kempff Mercado National Park


FAN works with the TCO Bajo Paragua communities and the communities inside the park on organizational strengthening, land tenancy, natural resources management, income-generating activities, and training and education.

Supports the communities in their demand for titles to the 360,565 hectares of Native Community Land (TCO Bajo Paraguá)
 

Provides tools to plan a sustainable management of the natural resources available in the communities.

Provides training and support in environmental education at the communities’ educational units. It supports 120 primary and secondary students with scholarships and higher education for the community members.

Strengthened the formation of the Indigenous Federation of Bajo Paraguá (CIBAPA). It continues to support the community assemblies and CIBAPA’s leaders.
