Generates information, scientific tools, and conceptual framework for biodiversity conservation and management at the national and eco-regional levels.

Areas of work

  • Identify areas of biological-ecological value in terms of their representativity and functionality (according to the GAP Analysis methodology).
  • Foresee changes in biodiversity representativity patterns (richness and endemism of flora and fauna) caused by the effects of climate change.
  • Evaluate the current and future status of conservation in Bolivia based on the effects of loss and degradation of habitats, excessive exploitation of biological resources, and climate change.
  • Provide technical-scientific bases to carry out sustainable use of flora and fauna species in Biotrade initiatives.
